Privacy Policy

What we collect

  • Account: name, mobile number (used to sign in with a one-time code sent by SMS) and email (optional). We do not use passwords.
  • Business data you enter: company profile (name, GSTIN, address, bank and UPI details), parties, items, bills, payments, stock and other entries.
  • Device: a random device ID made by the app, the platform (Android or iOS) and the time of the last sync, used to keep your phones in sync.
  • Support: what you write in a support ticket, with the app version and device ID so we can help.
  • Logs: server logs with request time, route and a request ID, kept for up to 30 days for security and debugging.
  • Usage statistics: which screens are opened and a few events (sign-in, bill saved or shared, without their contents), the app version, phone model, OS and approximate country, through Google Firebase Analytics with a random app-instance ID. Never your bills, parties, amounts or mobile number. Turn it off any time: More → Settings → Share usage statistics.

We do not collect your contacts, precise location, advertising IDs or browsing data. There are no ads, and nothing is used to track you across other apps or websites.

Why we use it

To run the app: sign you in, store and sync your business data across your phones, let the people you add to your company see it according to their role, answer your support requests, and send sign-in codes. Usage statistics only help us see which features are used and where the app needs work.

Where it is stored

On your phone, and on our servers over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Sign-in tokens on the phone are kept in the Android Keystore or the iOS Keychain. A backup file you export is yours: keep it somewhere safe, because it contains your business data.

Sharing

We do not sell or rent your data. We share it only:

  • with people you add to your company, according to the role you give them;
  • with service providers who run the service for us (hosting, SMS for sign-in codes, usage statistics through Google Firebase, and AI processing when you use AI features), under contracts that protect it; AI requests are not used to train models;
  • when Indian law requires it.

Your choices and rights

  • See and correct your data in the app.
  • Export your company's data any time: More → Backup and restore → Export backup file.
  • Delete your account in the app (More → Delete my account, confirmed with an OTP), at https://finbill.in/delete-account/, or by contacting support@finbill.in. The account stops working at once and is erased after 7 days; until then you can restore it by signing in with OTP. On erasure, businesses where you are the only member are deleted with all their entries. Shared businesses stay with their other members. Server backups are cleared within 30 days.
  • Raise a concern with our Grievance Officer at support@finbill.in.

Children

The app is for businesses and is not meant for anyone under 18.

Changes

We will show a notice in the app before important changes take effect.
